A/N: Yeah, so this is definitely tied in to a longer piece in the works, along with the other 5x drabbles: Sheldon, Penny, Raj. You don't need to read those first but they all live in the same (parallel) universe.

1. March
   
   Leonard let himself into the apartment, careful not to let his keys clank in the bowl lest it wake plague-ridden Sheldon.
   
   He walked carefully, avoiding the creaky floorboards that sent his roommate into a lather, and noticed Penny had left her laptop on his chair. He felt bad for abandoning her to the horror - not bad enough to not do it, obviously, but still.
   
   As he tiptoed to his room, a rustling sound froze him in his tracks. Holding his breath, he peeked in Sheldon's room and almost screamed when he saw Penny curled up on top of the comforter.
   
   
   
2. June
   
   He was juggling two bags of Thai - Howard had decided he needed to sample pretty much everything on the menu - and trying to figure out how to get his keys out of his pocket as he reached their landing. A poorly secured container of nam pla made a break for it; he wound up squishing the bags against the door with his chest while he unlocked it.
   
   Both bags hit the floor as the door swung open. Penny and Sheldon leapt to their feet, flushed and sweating.
   
   "Hey, you're back already!" Penny cried. "Look, Sheldon, he's back!"
   
   Sheldon twitched.
   
   
   
3. August
   
   When the air conditioning went out, Leonard briefly fantasized about packing a bag and fleeing the inevitable Sheldon Cooper meltdown.
   
   When the repairman promised by the landlord failed to show up for the third day in a row, he broke down and agreed to play wingman to Howard in exchange for fixing the window unit.
   
   "He says he's almost done!" He let himself in to Penny's apartment where she'd let them take refuge after work.
   
   "Finally!" Sheldon and Penny sat in front of an oscillating fan in their underwear. "Penny's unit has ... overheated."
   
   "Oh yeah, it did," Penny drawled.
   
   
   
4. November
   
   "I'm going to fly home to visit my parents for Thanksgiving this year."
   
   He expected a bigger burst of outrage from Sheldon for disrupting routine but Penny jumps in to offer to drive him to the comic book store, Sheldon gives her a weird look, and in less than thirty seconds everything is fine again.
   
   Howard looks as confused as Leonard feels, but Raj glares at them both and jabs an elbow into Howard's leg when he starts to speak.
   
   "What the hell was that?" he asks Raj later.
   
   "Dude, don't you ever get tired of living Pretty in Pink?"
   
   
   
5. January
   
   He drinks too much at the department's New Year's party and staggers into the kitchen the next day around noon. He's pouring a big glass of water and trying to decide which analgesic to take when Sheldon's door opens.
   
   "Sorry about last night," he calls. "How did you-"
   
   When he turns it's not Sheldon sneaking across the living room, it's Penny.
   
   And she's wearing the same dress she wore when he saw her leave for her own night out.
   
   "Happy New Year!" she trills and closes the door behind her.
   
   The last thing he sees is the half-done zipper.
